Jericho and other lettuces should be washed and thouroughly dried before being stored in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. Remove as much moisture as possible from the leaves before storing. Excess water can speed the wilting process. A salad spinner and pat down with dry paper towels is recommended.
A damp paper towel can be wrapped around the lettuce before storing in the crisper, to maintain an ideally moist environment.
