The Farm of Minnesota
Community Supported Agriculture

Dan Moe

Owner/Farmer

Dan's Bio:

My life at The Farm goes all the way back to the late 1960's, when it was my grandfather who owned the land we farm on now.  It so happened that I was blessed to spend one Summer here helping him, and it has been in my blood ever since.

I went off to college out in California, and after coming to the decision that I was not engineering-minded, I instead bought a cactus and succulent nursery.  Later I transitioned to running an avocado ranch.

It was during that time that I missed my first opportunity to come back to The Farm.  My grandfather retired in 1980, but I was busy with the avocados, so it wasn't until the year 2000 that I finally came back to Minnesota to stay.

In the interim, one of my cousins had farmed conventional grains, so when we arrived, we slowly began taking over a few acres while leasing out the remainder to help cover costs.  After a number of years experimenting and getting used to farming in Minnesota (different weather you know), we came across something new to us - Community Supported Agriculture.

This model seemed to fit perfectly with my absolute passion to bring highly-nutritional food to the world.  If you've spent much time around me, you know it only takes a comment to get me going for an hour about my love for farming!  I've got big, big plans for the future, and growing The Farm every year brings us closer to that vision.

We're incredibly grateful that so many have decided to join us on this journey and each year continues to blow us away.  We consider our CSA members part of the family, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
